He died on 27 March 1954 at the age of 76 at Southlands Hospital in Shoreham-by Sea, Sussex. He had his estate probated on 12 May 1954 at Central Probate Registry in London.

Appears on the 1901 census living in Teddington, Middlesex with his father and working as a Butcher.

In 1911 Edwin is single and living at 83 High Street, Teddington, his occupation is Master Butcher, he has two aervants living with him, one is Herbert William FREEMAN, a butcher, the other is his future wife Elsie HARLING, who is described as Book Keeper.

In 1933 Edwin was Chairman of Teddington Urban District Council, he was a Councillor for the Lower Teddington Ward, the 1933 Kelly's Directory lists his business address as 83 High Street, Teddington.

Edwin George IVE and Elsie Beatrice HARLING were married on 24 April 1911 at St Luke in Kentish Town, London. Elsie Beatrice HARLING, daughter of William HARLING, was born about 1875 in St Paul, Covent Garden, Westminster, Middlesex. She died on 11 October 1932 at the age of 57 in Nursing Home, Twickenham, Surrey.
