Tenth Generation529. Ernest George IVE was baptized on 2 May 1869 in East Barnet, Hertfordshire. He was born in 1869 in East Barnet, Hertfordshire. He died in 1946 at the age of 77. Death Registration: in January 1946–March 1946 at Vol 7b Page 557 in R.D. Southwell. On the 1871 census Ernest is listed as an inmate of the workhouse in Union Lane, Chipping Barnet, he is described ass an orphan. Appears on the 1881 census living at Little Cottage, Cat Hill, East Barnet he is described as the grandson of the head of household Mary INGLE. Ernest enlisted in the army in 1886, when he joined the Commisariat and Transport Corps, at the time of his enlistment he gave his trade as that of a Butcher. He served his full term of 12 years and left the army in 1898, all his service was spent in the UK. Appears in the 1901 census living in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire and working as a Railway Station Master. In 1911 Ernest, Ellen and their daughter Edith are living at Station House, Boughton, Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, where he is a Stationmaster for the Great Central Railway. Ernest rejoined the army early in World War 1 as a driver in the Army Service Corps, he spent sometime in the Middle East according to his Medal Record Card, he was demobilized in April 1919.
