Appears on the 1851 census living at Sands End Lane, Fulham working as a Cow Keeper, this business must have been reasonably substantial as it employs a Dairy Maid plus 3 Cow Boys. Samuel took over Southcote Farm Ruislip, Middlesex sometime before the 1861 Census. The farm is shown as comprising 70 acres in 1861 and 90 acres in 1871, Samuel vacated the farm sometime prior to the 1881 census. Dinah is shown as his wife on the 1871 census and Elizabeth and Julia are described as his step-daughters. In 1881 Samuel is living at Smith's Farm, Northolt, the home of his daughter Susanna. Samuel Edward IVE and Susanna WILLIAMS were married on 3 September 1829 at St James in Westminster, Middlesex. Susanna WILLIAMS was born about 1799 in Shrivenham, Hertfordshire?. Samuel Edward IVE and Dinah GODLIMAN were married on 13 May 1860 at St Marylebone in Middlesex. Dinah GODLIMAN, daughter of Thomas GODLIMAN and Mary Anne SHACKLE, was born on 27 January 1817 in Ickenham, Middlesex. She was baptized on 23 February 1817 in Ickenham, Middlesex. She died on 28 May 1897 at the age of 80 at Manor Farm in Ruislip, Middlesex. Dinah was buried on 3 June 1897 at St Martin in Ruislip, Middlesex. Appears on the 1881 census staying at The Black Horse, Ruislip, Middlesex described as Widow with no occupation, this is strange as Samuel is still alive and appears on the census staying with Susanna his daughter from his first marriage. By 1891 Samuel IVE has died and Dinah is living in the household of her son-in-law Henry James EWER at Manor Farm, Ruislip. |
