He had his estate probated on 5 March 1895 at Central Probate Registry in London. Appears on the 1851 census as a pupil at Laburnham House School, Heathern House, Kingston. The 1871 census finds John, his wife and children, living at Hamprton Wick, his occupation is given as a Butcher employing 6 hands. Appears on the 1881 Census living at Hampton Court Road, Hampton Wick as a Master Butcher. John IVE and Harriet PENSTON were married on 14 January 1861 at St Martin in the Fields in Westminster, Middlesex. Harriet PENSTON, daughter of Jabez PENSTON and Mary [--?--], was born on 27 July 1832 in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. She died on 4 June 1895 at the age of 62 in Hampton Court, Hampton Wick, Middlesex. She was buried on 7 June 1895 in Teddington Cemetery, Middlesex. Harriet had her estate probated on 26 September 1895 at Central Probate Registry in London. In 1851 Harriet is living in Upper Hill Street, Richmond, Surrey where she is an Apprentice Dressmaker working for a Margaret WALLER; her relationship to Margaret WALLER is described as "Inmate" A death notice for Harriet appears in the London Times dated 6th June 1895. John IVE and Harriet PENSTON had the following children: 363 | i. | Mary IVE was born in 1861 in Hampton Court, Hampton Wick, Middlesex. She was baptized on 1 January 1862 at St John the Baptist in Hampton Wick, Middlesex. She died on 12 October 1896 at the age of 35 in Madras, India. Mary had her estate probated on 1 July 1897. In the 1881 census appears as a pupil living at 94 Holland Road, Kensington this seems to be an educational establishment. Occupation: Headmistress of an all-girl school in Madras, India. Educated at Oxford The following is from the Archivist of St Hugh's College: Mary IVE did indeed attend St. Hugh's. She is down in our College register as the 8th student to enter the College, October 1887-June 1890 and read Botany, obtaining a second class. We have only brief details of her career but she was apparently Assistant Mistress at Woodford House School, Croydon before becoming Headmistress at the Girls High School (Bishop Corrie's School) in Madras in 1893.
