He died on 19 June 1869 at the age of 57 at 40 Dacre Park in Lee, Kent. John had his estate probated on 17 July 1869 at Principal Registry in London. In 1851 John is living at 14 Aldgate in the City of London, he is described as a Tea Dealer employing 2 men. In 1861 John and Florence are living at 3 Kingswood Terrace, Lee, Kent, his occupation is given as a Tea Dealer. The following entry appears in the Will Indexes:- "1869. Ive, John Edwin. Under £12,000. 17 July. The Will of John Edwin Ive late of 14, Aldgate in the City of London and of 40, Dacre-park, Lee in the County of Kent Tea Dealer and Grocer who died 19 June 1869 at 40, Dacre-park. Probate to Florence Ive, widow the Relict, Alfred Ive of Henley-on-Thames, nephew, Alfred Powell 3, Eaton Terrace Acacia Road St James Westminster in the County of Middlesex Artist the executors." John Edwin IVE and Florence POWELL were married in 1860. Registration: R.D. Henley Vol 3a Page 877 between October 1860 and December 1860 . Florence POWELL, daughter of Joseph POWELL and Anne LEAVER, was born on 1 July 1823 in Assendon, Oxfordshire. She was baptized on 20 July 1823 in Pishill, Oxfordshire. She died on 22 December 1879 at the age of 56 at 40 Acacia Road in St Johns Wood, Middlesex. In 1841 Florence and her sister Sarah are living in White Waltham, Berkshire, their occupation is given as Governess. By 1851 Florence has returned to live with her parents, no occupation is given for her. In 1871 Florence is living at 40 Acacia Road, St John's Wood with her brother Alfred and Niece Ellen POWELL. The following appears in the will indexes:- "1880. Ive, Florence. Personal Estate under £3,000. 14 January. The Will of Florence Ive late of 40, Acacia-road St John's Wood in the County of Middlesex Widow who died 22 December 1879 at 40, Acacia-road was proved at the Principal Registry by Alfred Powell of 16, Acacia-road Artist the Brother the sole Executor." |
