George appears as a Hay Binder on the 1861 census living near his parents at Ruislip Common. On the 1871 census he has become a Hay Dealer still at Ruislip Common and by 1881 he has taken over The Six Bells as Publican.

The 1901 census shows George as a Publican of the Six Bells at Ruislip Common.

George IVE and Elizabeth "Eliza" TOBUTT were married on 24 December 1857 at St Martin in Ruislip, Middlesex. Elizabeth "Eliza" TOBUTT, daughter of George TOBUTT and Maria COLLINS, was born about 1836 in Ruislip, Middlesex. She died in 1924 at the age of 88. She was buried on 9 May 1924 at St Martin in Ruislip, Middlesex. Eliza was also known as Eliza TOBUTT. Death Registration: in April 1924–June 1924 at Vol 3a Page 38 in R.D. Uxbridge.
In 1911 Eliza is landlord of the Six Bells, Ruislip Common, her daughter Alice and nephew Alfred BUTLER are living with her.
