From 1981 about 100 vehicles from the British Leyland Heritage Collection were put on display in a small museum at Syon Park, the building had previously been home to vehicles belonging to the London Transport Museum prior to the opening of the museum in Covent Garden. The BL vehicles were eventually moved to what is now the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon Warwickshire, where the whole collection could be displayed.
